Harassment, Bullying & Discrimination

This document applies to both The Impulse Company (UK) and The Impulse Company Australia. Any references to "The Impulse Company" refer to both The Impulse Company and The Impulse Company Australia unless otherwise specified.

Introduction

The Impulse Company is dedicated to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students, employees, associates, and participants. We are committed to providing an educational and artistic space where discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, and bullying are not tolerated. This policy outlines our stance against such behaviours and sets forth our commitment to preventing and addressing them.

Policy Statement

Non-Discrimination

  • The Impulse Company does not tolerate discrimination on the basis of race, ethnicity, colour, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic under UK law.

Harassment

  • Harassment of any form, including but not limited to verbal, physical, or visual harassment, is strictly prohibited.
  • Harassment creates a hostile environment and undermines the well-being and artistic growth of our community.

Sexual Harassment

  • Sexual harassment is prohibited and includes unwelcome advances, requests for sexual favours, or any other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that creates an offensive, intimidating, or hostile environment.

Bullying

  • Bullying in any form, including cyberbullying, is not tolerated within The Impulse Company.
  • We are committed to creating an environment where individuals can work and learn without fear of mistreatment.

Reporting and Resolution

Reporting Incidents

  • Any student, employee, associate, or participant who believes they have experienced or witnessed discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, or bullying is encouraged to report the incident promptly.

Confidentiality

  • All reports will be handled discreetly, and the privacy of the complainant and witnesses will be respected to the extent allowed by law.

No Retaliation

  • The Impulse Company strictly prohibits retaliation against any individual who makes a good-faith report of discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, or bullying.

Investigation and Resolution

  • All reports will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate corrective action will be taken in accordance with our internal procedures.

Education and Prevention

The Impulse Company is committed to providing education and training to our community to prevent discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, and bullying. This includes awareness programs, workshops, and resources aimed at fostering a respectful and inclusive environment.

Accountability

Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary actions, up to and including expulsion, termination of employment, or dismissal of associates. Legal consequences may also apply.

Review and Amendment

This policy will be periodically reviewed and updated to ensure its effectiveness and relevance in preventing discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, and bullying within The Impulse Company.
