This Code of Conduct applies to both The Impulse Company (UK) and The Impulse Company Australia. Any references to "The Impulse Company" in this document refer to both The Impulse Company and The Impulse Company Australia, unless otherwise specified.
The Impulse Company is unwavering in its commitment to cultivating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment that champions equity for all individuals. We firmly reject discrimination, harassment (including sexual harassment), and bullying in any form. This Code of Conduct outlines the principles of behaviour expected from all individuals affiliated with The Impulse Company, including employees, associates, and students. It is imperative that all members adhere to the tenets set forth herein.
Compliance
Every employee, associate, and student is obliged to comply with this Code of Conduct. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action, termination of your contract with The Impulse Company, and, if the violation is of a criminal nature, reporting to the relevant authorities.
This Code of Conduct applies to all employees, associates, and students under the following circumstances:
- While at work or in class, including but not limited to classes, rehearsals, and performances.
- During work/class-related functions, such as Christmas parties, after-parties, and conferences.
- In situations outside of work/class where there exists a connection to the workplace, including but not limited to the use of social media or other methods of contact.
Standards of Behaviour
The Impulse Company, its employees, associates, and students are collectively responsible for fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment by adhering to the following principles:
- Treating all employees, audiences, patrons, customers, and staff with dignity, courtesy, and respect.
- Valuing individuals for their unique experiences, abilities, and backgrounds, encompassing ethnicity, cultural and linguistic diversity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, ability/disability, neurodiversity, or political beliefs.
- Providing support and respecting the boundaries of other members of The Impulse Company when they are in emotional or physical distress.
- Promptly reporting any violations of this Code of Conduct or any other policies of The Impulse Company, as specified in The Impulse Company’s Reporting, Complaint Handling, and Investigation Procedures.
- Upholding privacy and confidentiality when complaints are filed or under investigation.
- Complying with all relevant laws and regulations.
Unacceptable Behaviours
Employees, associates, and students are strictly prohibited from engaging in the following behaviours:
- Insulting, humiliating, abusing, or threatening to abuse (verbally, physically, or in writing) another person.
- Committing physical or sexual assault against another person.
- Discriminating against or unfairly treating someone based on their ethnicity, cultural and linguistic diversity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, ability/disability, neurodiversity, or political beliefs.
- Intimidating, threatening, or harassing another person.
- Engaging in sexual harassment through unwanted, unwelcome, or uninvited behaviour.
- Bullying, isolating, or humiliating another person.
- Utilizing derogatory or discriminatory comments or gestures.
- Victimizing, unjustly treating, or threatening someone for raising a complaint or acting as a witness in an investigation.
- Making intentional false accusations against another person.
- Behaving unethically.
- Excessive consumption of alcohol or the use of restricted, dangerous, or illicit drugs on the premises or while representing The Impulse Company.
- Consumption of alcohol or other substances such that it interferes with participation in the activities being undertaken by The Impulse Company.
- Participating in the possession of weapons or any items that could be considered weapons on the program premises, which will result in immediate expulsion from the program.
- Participating in rigorous or zealous referencing or discourse pertaining to our own or others' work and educational endeavours, which may insinuate notions of superiority, inferiority, or suggest cult-like inclinations within our educational or classroom milieu.
