Introduction

The safety and well-being of our students, employees, associates, and participants are paramount at The Impulse Company. This General Risk Assessment serves as a framework to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with our activities and operations.

Risk Assessment Procedure

Identification of Hazards

  1. Identify and list potential hazards and risks relevant to the activities and operations of The Impulse Company.
  2. Consider activities such as rehearsals, performances, classes, use of facilities, and any other specific events or functions.

Assessment of Risks

  1. Evaluate the likelihood and severity of each identified risk.
  2. Assess the potential impact on individuals, property, and the company's reputation.

Risk Prioritization

  1. Prioritize risks based on their potential severity and likelihood.
  2. Focus on addressing high-priority risks with immediate action.

Risk Mitigation and Control

  1. Develop and implement measures to mitigate or control identified risks.
  2. Ensure that adequate resources and training are provided to maintain these measures.

Common Risks and Mitigation Measures

Health & Safety

  1. Hazard: Accidents, injuries, and illnesses during activities and performances.
  2. Mitigation: Regular safety briefings, emergency procedures, first aid training, and maintaining safe facilities.

Security

  1. Hazard: Unauthorized access, theft, or vandalism.
  2. Mitigation: Implement security measures such as access control, surveillance systems, and secure storage for valuable assets.

Fire Safety

  1. Hazard: Fire emergencies in classrooms, studios, or performance areas.
  2. Mitigation: Conduct regular fire drills, maintain clear evacuation plans, ensure availability of fire extinguishers, and install smoke detectors.

Environmental

  1. Hazard: Weather-related issues, such as floods or storms.
  2. Mitigation: Monitor weather alerts, have emergency response plans in place, and implement flood prevention measures where applicable.

Public Health

  1. Hazard: Outbreaks of illnesses, including communicable diseases.
  2. Mitigation: Follow health and safety protocols, promote hygiene practices, and adhere to local health guidelines and regulations.

Financial and Operational

  1. Hazard: Financial instability, operational disruptions.
  2. Mitigation: Engage in thorough financial planning, develop business continuity plans, and conduct regular operational assessments.

Regular Review and Update

  • This General Risk Assessment will be reviewed periodically, especially when new activities or operations are introduced, to ensure its effectiveness in managing risks.

Responsibility and Reporting

  • All employees, associates, and participants of The Impulse Company are responsible for identifying and reporting risks promptly.
  • The designated Risk Assessment Coordinator will oversee risk assessments and ensure timely action and reporting.
