Michael Gilhooley

Michael trained at LAMDA before studying with Scott Williams at the Impulse Company.

As an actor he worked across theatre, TV & film before moving into writing & directing for screen and co-founding his production company Good Shout. He is currently in development on his debut feature, The Buff Club, having directed numerous short films, including The Listener (BAFTA long-listed, starring Amit Shah & Dame Harriet Walter), Window (BFI FutureFilm winner), and Red Light (London Screenwriters’ Festival competition winner), plus Provenance (Impulse Company/HumanKind Films co-production) and Checkpoints, which is currently being submitted to festivals.

Michael has taught and directed at various leading UK drama schools, including LAMDA, Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Drama Centre, Arts Ed, Drama Studio London, LIPA and Fourth Monkey.
