You’ve heard about the famous Meisner Technique for actors, created by Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. Using a series of five simple, practical exercises, Scott Williams will take you through the entire approach to acting rooted in the idea that acting is “living truthfully under an imaginary set of circumstances.” You’ll emerge a more authentic and passionate performer, with a set of skills which work equally well on stage and on camera.
Over the past 25 years, Scott Williams has brought the work of Sanford Meisner to the British performing world, teaching at the Actors Centre and at The Impulse Company, which he founded to teach actors, directors, and writers. He studied with Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse and with William Ball at the American Conservatory Theatre. He teaches and directs all over the world, including Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Hong Kong, France and Australia, where The Impulse Company teaches thousands of professionals.
